Ripped out sky & scrapped wording. Came up with new beginning and ending. Works better.

But working on sketchbook has to wait. Need to let the tacky pages dry for a couple days.

It's almost done-end is in sight.

Starting something new tomorrow. I'm excited about it.

Coming in the home stretch. 2 more spreads finished today. Now on to final spread - a sunrise with ark safe & floating on horizon. Then back to figure out page 1- the title/introduction.

THE REAL THING OR.....?

Ports of Color @ Windows Cafe My Jeep is packed with art, graphics & tool box. Two friends will meet me at Walnut Hill at 9am tomorrow to hang the show.

Pictured below are my 4 pieces inspired by the dye vats of North Africa. The originals are being framed for their new owners. These are actually giclee prints of the originals. The quality of these giclees never fail to amaze me! The original gouache Painted Dye Vats was painted on a gessoed brown paper bag. The giclee print of Painted Dye Vats (at right) challenges reality!

I love this piece. Maybe I am a painter after all!

FRAMING FRIENDS

Prepping to hang our Ports of Color@Walnut Hill Wed. Mounting lino prints/collages by Martha Campbell (top) & Pat Butler (lower) in IKEA frames. Martha's are ready for the frames. Still working on Pat's. More tomorrow.

Organizing for hanging Ports of Color at the Windows Cafe @Walnut Hill, Bethel, CT w/art by Pat Butler, Martha Campbell & myself. Framing in progress floating Pat's lino prints, Veiled Eyes, inspired by wrought iron window grillwork in the Mediterranean's Gilbraltar area.

Did not work today on sketchbook. Carried it along to share with a friend. Still keeping freezer paper between the pages when I have to close the book. It's pretty thick and doesn't close flat. Working on solution. (Below) Did patch the torn page yesterday.

Continued tweeking the pages to completion. Still a work in progress. Every page is fIlled with exception of first page/both sides-saving for title/introduction & final back page. (Bottom photo) Problem solving the tearing of the perforated pages by reinforcing with addtional fabric used in the collage-both sides of tear.
