People are always curious about artist's studios. Here's mine & I love it. Table tops are spread with Sketchbook Project 2011. Furniture is mostly IKEA. High work table & ledges by my husband, Nelson, patron of the arts! Studio loft 1/2 wall overlooks great room, w/artist friend, Kathy Maghini's, collages from workshop posted 8/17.
Finally a sense of direction. Now I'm enjoying the process.
Though still going with 40 days & 40 nights of the Genesis Flood, I decided not to add the ark into the pictures. I can't explain why except to say the creative spirit is not leading that way. So I let it go & feel right about that.
Going with rising water and descriptive words. Will write something about the Flood at the beginning or the end.
Sketchbook Projectprogress. More cut & paste. 12 pages ready for arecord year of rainfall. Rain I painted a couple years ago. Sketchbook...mostly collage. Maybe. I'm trusting the process.
On Skype with our art buddy, Pat Butler for 3 1/2 hours today! She saw us but we didn't see her. Pat just got back from Italy - so lots of stories & catching up. All to say... we didn't get much collaging done on day 3!
On Monday Marth & I will begin working through some design problems. Simplifying shapes & pushing color will be part of the challenge. We'll be blogging about our workshop.
Getting postcards cards ready to send off to Africa. Our friends will enjoy seeing the quilts I made with African fabrics.
Sketchbook came yesterday. A Moleskin Cahier Kraft Brown Cover - bottom left in photo. Smaller than expected but plenty of pages for creativity. As promised there's the bar code on the back with my name and chosen theme: A Record Year of Rainfall. What's this about? Click below.
